Our experienced medical staff responds to a common patient question about injections for chronic pain:

“How long do I need to stay in the office after my procedure?”

Sandy responds:

Procedure room for injections for chronic painIt depends on the procedure you are having. For example, if you have a herniated disc in your lower back, you may be a good candidate for an epidural steroid injection for back pain. After this type of procedure, it is possible that you could have some weakness or numbness in your legs which is a normal response. In that case we would have you stay with us in the office for up to 30 minutes just to make sure everything is ok. Most patients feel perfectly normal after their procedure and walk right out with their driver. Even if you do feel fine, we still advise you to take it easy for the rest of the day.
